Utah Geological and Mineralogical Survey records 1949-1973

In 1949 the Utah Geological and Mineralogical Survey moved from the Utah Department of Publicity and Mineral Development to the University of Utah College of Mines and Mineral Industries. In 1973 the Survey became a division of the Utah Department of Natural Resources. This collection contains correspondence (1961-1973), memoranda, reports, and budgets concerning the administration of the office. Also included are correspondence and reports related to mineral development potential, earthquake hazards, dams, and the Great Salt Lake.
